Georgia Tech Facchetti Lab

McKenney’s collaborated with Gay Construction Company to renovate laboratories and offices in the Manufacturing Related Disciplines Complex (MRDC) at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This project supports a leading wet chemistry experimentalist by outfitting the labs with specialized systems, including chemical fume hoods, glove boxes, spin coaters, metal evaporators, and various benchtop apparatuses.

The renovations were designed to accommodate research involving flammable liquids, compressed gases, and cryogenic liquids while adhering to NFPA 45 standards. By combining expertise in both construction and mechanical systems, the team successfully integrated specialized ventilation, safety systems, and customized laboratory infrastructure, creating a secure and functional environment tailored to the needs of cutting-edge research.
