At McKenney’s, safety is a critical part of our everyday culture. It’s more than watching training videos and handing out safety certificates--it’s doing everything we can to make sure our employees return to their families safely every night. These practices go hand in hand with our philosophy of never compromising safety for the sake of productivity.
We demonstrate our commitment to safety through:
- Comprehensive training programs
- Weekly on-site safety meetings
- Internal awards and recognition programs
- State-of-the-art personal protective equipment for employees
Over the years, McKenney’s has been recognized in our industry for our outstanding safety performance:
- Holder Construction Company’s Subcontractor of the Month safety award for September 2007
- Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) third place nationally for safety in the large company category for 2007
- Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) award for safety excellence for achieving lost workday case incidence rate of at least 25% below average in 2007
- Georgia Department of Labor award of excellence for “no days away from work” in 2007
Our clients also recognize our employees’ exemplary safety performance and willingness to set an example for others on the job site. Their accolades include:
- Skanska’s annual subcontractor safety award in 2005
- Bovis Lend Lease’s safety recognition for March and April 2008
Even with these accomplishments, McKenney’s is always looking for new ways to improve our safety performance and ensure the well-being of every member of our team. Our constant dedication has helped us achieve more than 1 million man-hours without a lost-time injury twice in the past four years, and has led to more than 120 McKenney’s employees receiving OSHA 30 certification.
