ith commercial office employees adjacent to a data center work area, a McKenney’s service team installed redundant HVAC condensers and piping.

THE CHALLENGE

As a mission-critical facility, McKenney’s needed to maintain uptime in an active data center and office. Noise and smoke had to be contained while running 6,000

feet of copper piping below a raised floor with existing wiring, piping and conduit. Copper piping was also run above the suspended ceiling, and coring was necessary through reinforced walls to run outside refrigerant lines.

THE SOLUTION

Two dedicated technicians removed raised floor tiles in sections to maintain air circulation, used smoke eaters and a fire watch, and performed all loud, disruptive

installation after hours. In order to route, keep the piping level and prevent oil traps, a piping map was laid on top of the raised floor and specified height standards were followed.

THE RESULTS

Professional planning and expert piping practices resulted in the condenser farm being installed with zero downtime and no customer productivity loss.
